The three friends behind Anthill Farms met while working at Williams Selyem after various stints as cellar rats across the country, so they have California Pinot in their DNA. In 2004, they opened up Anthill Farms to pay homage to small growers by producing single-vineyard Pinots (plus Syrah). They also produce two appellation wines, some Sonoma and Mendocino, and now this North Coast blend of the two, at a stunning price for an intro to one of the North Coast's sought-after Pinot producers. The NV Pinot Noir North Coast is a very pretty, high-toned wine laced with pretty floral, cinnamon and crushed red berry notes. This mid-weight, gracious Pinot Noir delivers insane quality for the money. A blend of sites in Anderson Valley and Sonoma Coast works so well here. And the price? Ridiculous.
