Jason and Molly Drew started making Drew wines in 2000 with a clear objective: to craft small lot, cool climate wines that express site distinction and traditional varietal character.   The Valenti Ranch sits at 1300-1450 ft and is six miles from the ocean along the Greenwood Ridge. This mostly east-facing vineyard is a no-till vineyard farmed to organic standards. We are loving the delineation, energy and translucence, qualities found in spades in the 2023s. The cool, late-ripening year is especially well suited to the house style. This 2023 leads with aromas of French plums, sandalwood, and exotic spices. The palate is dark and savory yet buoyant and lifted with dark plums, rose hips, forest mushrooms, and minerals with mouth-watering acidity and velvety tannins. An exquisite vintage from this site that deserves some time in your cellar to unfold its layers.
