Domaine du Banneret is a small family property of five hectares, located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Rhône Valley. From a confidential production, only 13,000 bottles are available each year. Two cuvées are produced by Audrey and Jean-Claude Vidal: a red Châteauneuf-du-Pape vinified according to ancestral methods and a white Châteauneuf-du-Pape whose production does not exceed 2,000 bottles. The vines are old, they produce low yields but of high quality. The average age of the vineyard is 70 years, the old vines are regularly replaced by new plans while respecting the original complantation. The vineyard is managed with respect for nature thanks to the use of organic composts. The nine plots are located on different localities, the production therefore comes from a very varied terroir. The 2022 vintage… The Vidal’s (father / daughter) made one of the beautiful Chateauneuf du Pape of the vintage….red berries, flowers, tomato, and spices, with delicate peppery undertones.  This is your elegant house - restrained (comparably) - and is so Rayas like…. finishes long and seamless, with a Burgundian kiss. This elegant wine drinks now but will add lots of complexity over the next decade or more. 60% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah / Shiraz, 17% other black variety, 3% white variety.
