First planted in 1872 by Swiss-Italian immigrants, Sorenson Vineyard has served as the beating heart of Burgess for more than 150 years. Climbing 800-1000 feet above sea level, Sorenson vineyard is carved into the western-facing slopes and Haymaker Vineyard on the east-facing sides of Howell Mountain, overlooking the Napa Valley below.  The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is a powerful, old-school wine. Dark cherry, plum, scorched earth, game, licorice and tar give the 2018 plenty of complexity. Big, potent tannins lend quite a bit of muscle, but there is more than enough fruit and overall balance to support many years in the cellar. Dark red fruit, mint, spice and licorice linger. This is very nicely done and drinking very well now.  90% Cabernet Sauvignon 6% Petit Verdot 4% Malbec
