Each wine from a different region, using only local varieties, built on real vineyard relationships. Gota means drop—small, intentional, authentic. Gota Wine House is the winemaking operation behind Prunus, focused on producing accessible wines from Portugal's historic Dão region. The Dão sits in the mountainous interior, protected by surrounding ranges that create a distinctive continental climate—hot summers, cold winters, and significant diurnal temperature variation that preserves acidity in the grapes. This tinto is built on indigenous varieties including Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Jaen, blended to create a wine that's both distinctively Portuguese and immediately approachable. The winemaking emphasizes freshness over extraction, resulting in a medium-bodied red with bright fruit, supple tannins, and an easy drinkability that makes it ideal for everyday meals.
