Granbazán is one of the best independent producers of Albariño in Val do Salnes, the wettest and coolest region in Galicia; they have been producing top tier Albariño for generations. The average temperature for the year is 55°F and it rarely exceeds 85°F, even in the hottest part of the summer. The Ambar is entirely free run juice with a little extra lees aging. Pure joy in a bottle, it glimmers with pear, green apple and apricot. More stone fruits show up on the palate, medium weight texturally and then the acid is unleashed in waves, with orange citrus, and unlimited amounts of salty minerality. A consistent favorite for the money or for anything really.
