Damilano's vineyards occupy some of the most world-renowned sites. The Damilano crus Cannubi, Brunate, Cerequio and Liste have distinct expressions that showcase the differences in terroir, ranging from the innate elegance of Cannubi and Brunate to the more decisive and structured character of Cerequio and Liste.   In addition to these four famed single vineyard crus, Damilano produces this wine, the Barolo 'Lecinquevigne', a blend of five vineyards from three different towns: Barolo, Grinzane Cavour and Monforte where the Nebbiolo grape is King. The soils are calcareous and clay, the vines are trained with the guyot method, and the high elevation is at 1,050 feet with a Southeastern exposure.  Stitched with pure cherry and raspberry fruit, this red is supple and fragrant, showing lovely harmony. Mineral, tar and eucalyptus accents add detail. There's plenty of structure, with vibrant acidity and refined tannins focusing the finish. Elegant, with the potential to develop over the next two decades.
