First planted in 1872 by Swiss-Italian immigrants, Sorenson Vineyard has served as the beating heart of Burgess for more than 150 years. Climbing 800-1000 feet above sea level, Sorenson vineyard is carved into the western-facing slopes and Haymaker Vineyard on the east-facing sides of Howell Mountain, overlooking the Napa Valley below.  The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Contadina is a blend mostly from Burgess's valley-floor sites with some fruit from the Sorenson Vineyard. It’s a soft, earthy Cabernet with lovely forward fruit and mid-weight structure. Spice, tobacco, incense and brambly notes are nicely delineated throughout.
