Shaw + Smith was established in 1989 by cousins Michael Hill-Smith MW and Martin Shaw. They focus on varieties that suit the cooler Hills climate: Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz. Their 2023 Sauvignon Blanc is a great place to go for a South Australian expression of the varietal. Crisp, bright, and tropical. You can find green apple, candied lime, and lychee supported by orange blossom, flint, and cut grass. This sees some time on the lees to add a more luscious texture to the palate. Just stunning.
